Chanel’s latest short film, which debuted last night in Saint Tropez before guests — in town to preview the brand’s Cruise 2011 show today — played a rousing game of petanque, is now online. The 17-minute film features Abbey Lee Kershaw as a Jane Birkin lookalike, Freja Beha Erichsen channeling Mick Jagger, and Magdalena Frackowiak emulating Brigitte Bardot.
Lagerfeld, who wrote, directed, and makes a cameo in the film, said Monday: “When I do a film, I see the movie before I’ve made it. I don’t make scripts because it’s written in my head. I like short one-liners.” And Heidi Mount, who plays a party hostess, added: “There’s a script, but it’s basically Karl telling you what he wants. He has the whole thing up in his head.”
